Roy A. Hunt Foundation Award

for Commitment to Education in the Arts and Humanities

Roy A. Hunt Award

In 1999, Torrance M. Hunt, Sr. established a program through the Roy A. Hunt Foundation that was designed to honor Pittsburgh-area teachers for integrating art and history--through the use of the diverse and historically significant resources at the Frick--into their students' learning experience.

This honor, known today as the Roy A. Hunt Foundation Award for Commitment to Education in the Arts and Humanities, is presented each year to a teacher who has demonstrated a commitment to participating in the Frick's education programs, and who has successfully integrated the arts and humanities into the students' learning experience.

Over the years, thousands of students have participated in enrichment activities at the Frick that foster their curiosity and love of learning, often through the use of free passes provided by the Hunt Foundation.
