Clayton is an example of both the home of a wealthy Pittsburgh family and of late Victorian architecture and interior design. Visitors on the Life in the Gilded Age tour have the unique experience of learning about the Frick family, local history and Victorian social customs in the family’s home, where more than 90% of the furniture and artifacts on display are original.
Clayton tour start times vary throughout the year.
Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: An important conservation project is currently underway at Clayton. The project addresses the Penn Avenue-facing façade and porch of the building, including the enclosed areas of the porch. For the duration of the project, the Penn Avenue entrance and the Enclosed Porch will be closed. Tours will enter Clayton through the kitchen entrance. We will continue to offer one-hour tours of Clayton, and we thank you for your patience and support as we complete the important work that is essential to maintaining the integrity of this historic home.
